Welcome to Studenco, a platform for students in Belgium to sublet their dorm rooms to other students or Erasmus students. By using our platform, you agree to comply with these Terms and Conditions.
Studenco reserves the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. These updates will be effective immediately upon posting. Continued use of the platform constitutes your acceptance of these changes.
Definitions
- Studenco: The platform connecting rentees (dorm owners) and renters (students looking for accommodation).
- Account: The personal user environment that enables access to the platform’s features.
- Listing: The advertisement posted by rentees to offer their accommodation on the platform.
- Services: The ability to search for accommodation and/or post listings on the platform.
- User: Any person using Studenco, either as a rentee or renter.
- Platform: The website and related services provided by Studenco.
Eligibility
To use Studenco, you must:
- Be a student in Belgium (either a local student or an Erasmus student).
- Have permission from your landlord to sublet your accommodation.
Use of the Platform
- Posting Listings: Rentees (dorm owners) can post listings for their available accommodation. Listings must be accurate and reflect the actual availability of the property.
- Contacting: Renters can contact rentees via email through the platform. The rentee will only receive the renter’s contact information once the renter has reached out.
- Payments: Payments for renting accommodation can be processed via PayPal, Stripe, or wire transfer.
- Account Security: Users are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of their account credentials. Studenco is not responsible for any unauthorized use of your account.
Prohibited Conduct
Users must not:
- Post fraudulent, misleading, or false listings.
- Use the platform for illegal or discriminatory purposes.
- Share personal information without consent.
- Use the platform for activities other than accommodation-related purposes.
Rights and Ownership
All content on the platform, including text, images, and code, is owned by Studenco or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Users are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the platform in accordance with these Terms.
Liability Disclaimer
Studenco acts solely as an intermediary connecting rentees and renters. We are not responsible for:
- Ensuring the accuracy of any listing or its availability.
- Any disputes or issues arising between rentees and renters.
- If a rentee fails to obtain permission from their landlord to sublet.
- Fraudulent activities, such as fake listings or false claims.
We do not guarantee the success of any rental transactions or interactions facilitated via the platform.
Amendments and Termination
Studenco reserves the right to amend or terminate these Terms at any time. Users will be notified of major changes via email or on the platform. If you continue to use the platform after these changes, you agree to the new Terms.
Studenco may suspend or terminate a user’s account at our discretion, especially if the user violates these Terms.
Privacy and Data Protection
Studenco values your privacy. By using our platform, you agree to the processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.
We process the following personal data:
- Name and Email Address: Shared with rentees when renters contact them.
- Payment Information: Processed through PayPal, Stripe, or wire transfers (we do not store full payment details).
- IP Address and Transaction Details: Used for security and payment purposes.

Liability
While Studenco makes every effort to ensure the platform operates smoothly, we do not guarantee that the platform will be free from errors or interruptions. We are not liable for:
- Any inaccuracies in the information posted by users.
- Issues arising from payment transactions.
- Disputes or damages resulting from agreements made between rentees and renters.
The maximum liability of Studenco is limited to the total amount paid by the user for services in the last 24 months.
Disputes and Resolution
In case of disputes between users, we encourage direct resolution. However, if necessary, Belgian law applies to all disputes arising from the use of the platform. Any legal proceedings will be conducted in the competent courts in Belgium.
Right of Withdrawal
Users have the right to withdraw from paid services (such as spotlight features) within 14 days of purchase. If the user initiates the service immediately, they waive the right of withdrawal.
Complaints Procedure
Studenco has a formal complaints procedure. If you encounter any issues with our services, please contact us via our contact form. We will respond to complaints within 14 days, and if further time is needed, we will notify you.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by Belgian law. Any legal disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Belgian courts.
